Kaingin

Kaingin is noted to be one of the principal causes of deforestation. Slash and burn consists of cutting and burning to convert forest lands to agriculture lands or pasture for livestock, or for a variety of other purposes. It is sometimes part of shifting cultivation agriculture, and of transhumance livestock herding. employing a technique of clearing land by slashing and burning underbrush and trees and plowing the ashes under for fertilizer well-known kaingin system which has been enormously destructive of valuable timber— A. The kaingin system of farming, cutting and burning trees to preparefor plantations, has many harmful effects. The most common knowneffects are landslides, lower oxygen levels due to the destructionof trees and plants, and flashfloods. There are also studies beingconducted regarding the kaingin system being a cause of globalwarming.

It can be caused of global warming. It can destroy the environment by burning the trees. The effect of kaingin is not only in our environment but also to our lives because it can create a flash floods and landslide that can kill the lives of many people.
